2020 started at Freeset with new hope and enthusiasm for impacting lives and building up a community of overcomers. Little did we know at the time that in three short months we would collectively face a major global pandemic.
As we reflect and report on our COVID -19 relief effort, it is the resilience of our women at Freeset and the people of our communities, that stand out the most. They have shown us how to selflessly care about our neighbors, and how important it is to choose JOY in the changing seasons of life.
At Freeset we are passionate to see freedom prosper in our communities, with every person having a chance to not only feed and clothe themselves, but ultimately reach their full potential. In making this a reality, we are thankful for partners like you.
Through your generous support of our COVID -19 Response Effort, PAY, PROTECT AND PROVIDE, you were able to bring smiles, spread joy, and instill hope in our communities. There is no greater calling than to LOVE, and we are glad you chose it
When COVID-19 surfaced, following the guidelines of the Government of India and being concerned about the health and safety of our employees, we had to halt all our production.
Your donations helped us pay the salaries of the women and men at Freeset from April through June. Many of them are the sole breadwinners for their families and extended families. With the wages, they were able to provide food, medicines, and basic necessities for those who rely on them.
During this pandemic, we believe one of the practical ways we can use our expertise and resources is to make masks. A small group of volunteers joined us in tirelessly sewing masks to distribute in our communities.
You gave 20,0000+ reusable cotton facemasks to residents, policemen, ward officials, and other non-profit organizations of our communities. Wearing a mask, helped them to access basic safety protection for themselves and others.
Beyond the threat of COVID-19, we feared hunger will inflict our communities. While in some communities you have donated staples like rice, dal, and wheat flour, in others you have provided hard to access items like Oil, Sugar, Eggs, and Vegetables to 1500+ families.
We are thankful for the many partner organizations and volunteers who have helped us in sourcing and distributing food in each location.
